To crochet around a bead you start with a slip knot.
Neem je haakpen en draad en breng het uiteinde van de draad van achter naar voor over de haakpen.
Place the thread over the hook like shown on the picture below.

Pick up the thread with your hook, not the short end, but the end of the skein.
Trek de draad door de lus, maar laat de lus groot.
Pull the thread through the loop and do not tighten, leave the loop open.
Haak nu 1 vaste.
Make 1 single crochet.
Haak hierna zes, acht (of meer, naargelang van wat je wil haken) vasten in de ring.
Make 6, 8 or more (depending on your project) single crochet in the loop.
Trek daarna aan het loshangende stukje draad, doe voorzichtig, om de ring te sluiten.
Now gently pull the short end of the thread to close the loop.
Sluit de ring met een halve vaste.
Close the loop with a half single crochet.
Ga verder met telkens twee vasten in de vorige vaste. Je werkje moet mooi plat blijven.
Continue with two single crochet in each previous single crochet.
Hierna kun je verder haken in het rond, afhankelijk van wat je wil haken.
